Difficult to See through Yutang Lin

Impermanence, no attachment, nor formality,
Mentioned often but seldom ruminated over.
Reflecting on speeches, behaviors and views,
Difficult to see through and observe subtleties.

Comment:

Fundamental concepts of Buddhist teachings, such as impermanence, no attachment, and no formality are known to ordinary Buddhists and are often mentioned in speeches and writings. However, it is not often seen that a Buddhist is able to think over such teachings and reflect on its implication to one's daily life, and consequently yield changes in views, behaviors and speeches. It is even rare to meet one that has comprehended the Buddhist philosophy thoroughly and is able to pay attention to subtleties in one's mind.
