佛法根本的教示是「無我」。在密宗裡，一切以上師為主；認定上師是「加持根本」，所以，一切修法離不開：領師教示，依師修行，觀師加持；甚至標榜需要「觀師即佛」。這樣是否一種「個人崇拜」，而違背了「無我」的方針？ 最近一次修頗瓦法時，我開始即觀陳祖師於面前空中，忽然領悟：以生命護持的菩提心——就是說，傳承加持是在於真正的菩提心，而真正的菩提心是在以生命護持菩提心者的心地；換句話說，真正的菩提心是活的菩提心。 弟子們親隨領教，並且親自經歷上師為眾生而推廣的法務，以及其中的種種勞苦艱辛，因而領會實際的菩提心行。在弟子的直接經驗中，上師就是「活的菩提心」，所以修行密法，一切以遵循上師為主。如此了解之後，密法推崇上師，只是敬重真正的菩提心，而無關乎世間的「個人崇拜」。 在投入佛法修行四十餘年後，纔領悟如何表達親隨上師的精髓；馬上供大家分享，願能助益密法行者眾！

The fundamental teaching of Dharma is that there is no ″self″. In Tantric Buddhism, all centers around the Guru; recognizing the Guru as the ″Root of Blessing″, and hence, all Dharma practices cannot deviate from: learning teachings from the Guru, relying on the Guru in Dharma practices, and visualizing receiving blessings from the Guru; furthermore, even emphasizes that one needs to ″visualize the Guru as Buddha″. Is it thus a kind of ″idol worship″ and runs counter to the guideline of no ″self″? During my latest Powa service, I started with visualizing, in front of me, Patriarch Chen abiding in the space above; suddenly, I comprehended that, the Bodhicitta sustained by life—in other words, the blessings of Dharma lineage is rooted in genuine Bodhicitta, while the genuine Bodhicitta rests in the mind of one who sustains Bodhicitta with his own life; thus, genuine Bodhicitta is ″living Bodhicitta″. Disciples who followed the Guru in person and participated in the propagation of Dharma services that the Guru performed for all sentient beings, and thereby experienced all sorts of hardship and difficulties in so doing, would thereby comprehend actual Bodhi intentions and actions. Within the direct experiences of such a disciple, the Guru is ″living Bodhicitta″, and hence, in Tantric Buddhist practices, all center around following the Guru. Having thus comprehended, worshiping the Guru in Tantric Buddhism is simply honoring genuine Bodhicitta, and has nothing to do with worldly ″idol worship″. Having devoted my life in Dharma practices over four decades, only then had I comprehended how to express the essence of a personal Guru; immediately, I share it with all, may it be helpful to Tantric Buddhist practitioners!
