Practice in accordance with opportunities to be selfless.
Life of Bodhi passes along the course of changing scenes.
To demand a preferred path reveals a hidden motivation;
Wishful thinking as spoken in dreams to reach enlightenment.

Comment:

The goal of Buddhist practice is to realize selflessness. Were one to pray for a preferred path toward enlightenment, there is already some hidden self-centered motivation without one's awareness. How could that match the right path?
