Not Emphasizing Ones Views

Yutang Lin

Parading one's views and evaluating others',
Tis hard to realize how limited knowledge is.
Once beyond the framework one stays quiet,
Watching the decline of habits year after year.

Comment:

Enjoying to parade one's views and criticize others' is also an expression of self-centeredness. Phenomena consist of such a vast variety of particular causal conditions that no one view would be able to encompass them all. When one is not confined by one's views, one would not like to criticize or evaluate. Occasionally one might utter a few words with only the intention to point out biases. Clarity of mind takes months and years for habits to dissipate into oblivion.
