Communion of Winds

Yutang Lin

Inner winds expanded even beyond boundaries;
Compassion of renunciation learned personally.
Outer winds gathered and entered through body,
Flowed toward Amitabha to join in communion.

Comments:

Once I wrote "Great and Compassionate" to record the revelation of a nun who, at the juncture of determining to renounce the worldly life, experienced two streams of inner air expanding outwardly without boundary. Once in the year 1987 when I was performing Powa, suddenly all outer air gathered and continuously poured directly through my body into me, then a stream of air went out from my front and flowed straightway into the Amitabha Buddha I visualized. The two inspirational incidents cited above collaborate to show that it is possible for inner and outer airs to join directly in communion without breathing. My experience is carefully recorded here so that practitioners who later have similar experiences would have a reference.
