Untiring

Yutang Lin

Delusive grasping to formality leads to diligent making up;
With cataract to guide blinders, what a useless commotion!
The working of things understood, one conforms to reality.
Staying aloof with compassion, frequently warn and advise.

Comments:

Grasping to conformity in appearance and upholding one’s views as infallible, some who has cataract in their view of the Dharma are giving guidance to blind followers without showing signs of ever being tired of what they are doing. Those who understand the Buddhist teachings well and can provide fine discrimination of right and wrong approaches, out of compassion for people that are off the right path, would constantly express their advice and warnings. Even though delusion and enlightenment are divergent paths, people on either path are equally untiring.
