Ignorance Recognized

Yutang Lin

Ignorance recognized avoids self-assertion.
Mindful of sentient beings preempts worry.
Just view all beings as equal and in oneness;
Transience renders real or unreal equivalent.

Comments:

Age already passed half a century; what has one gained in this life? Realizing that one is indeed ignorant avoids fighting out of deluded grasping. Being constantly mindful of sentient beings preempts entangling in self-centered worries. Viewing all beings as equal and in oneness, only in this light can we proceed on the right path. Impermanence applies to this moment; real or unreal are equally illusive.
