High and Low

Yutang Lin

In good faith respected as god;
Left behind in doubt as if dust.
Highest turns lowest in a blink;
Only original equality is even.

Comment:

High and low in the world vary with tides. As fashion changes, high and low trade seats. Seeing through the uncertainty of common karma, one remains satisfied with one's minuteness in the original equality of all beings, lest one would float up and down with the current waves.
