Hindered by Views

Yutang Lin

Led by set views, one's path and sphere are predetermined.
Others have no way to offer guidance; one is so self-limited!
Entering the hall and the inner chamber to receive essentials,
Only those with mind as free as a blank piece of paper could.

Comment:

In order to enter profoundly into the Dharma Gate, one should, first of all, clear oneself of hindrances of views. When prejudice dominates no guidance could be offered. Only with mind as pure as a white sheet of paper could one have the potential to receive profound transmission of teachings.
