Self-awakening

Yutang Lin

Severe words out of kindness could hardly be accepted;
Pulling a horse to water would render the drink insipid.
Advices born of Dharma aim at ultimate enlightenment;
Self-awakening of a lost person sparks the transmission.

Comment:

Sincere advices spoken repeatedly are often ignored or neglected. Forced compliance is only a matter of mutual deceit. Explain and analyze principles and matters to help see clearly; still it takes an open mind to receive the benefits of such guidance. When one is tired of deluded chasing and instead seeks peace of mind, only then could teaching and learning of Dharma join in communion. Views and attitudes could not be hurried; wait till their self-adjustment would be unexpectedly easier.
